SCREEN GRABS

the split screen shots look quite effective because it displays a variety of movement through the combination of ca,era angles.

feedback from other group

Genre : Overall we feel you have used many conventions that fit your video, girl, urban setting, bling, clubbing, car, police..etc well done.

Relationship : Gestures to explain the lyrics (mostly hand gestures)

Camerawork : Great camera, variations of angles, last shot where he punches camera is good.

Editing : Green screened car in background looks good. Well edited, shots go in time with music, good pace. Would change the white background.

Mise-en-scene : Cars fit in well with the genre. As does graffiti. Clothing is typical of what you would expect. All the mise-en-scene fits into the genre of the song effectively, bling, girls, money, cigar etc. Good inconography

Special effects : Green screen is good convention to use but doesn't look real. split screen was good,

Comparison of our video and group 45's

both videos have the same kind of performance, and some similiar mise en scene between them such as the clothing such as hooded jackects but gregs video is set in a different kind of location, in a more urban enviroment but i dont think it creates the same kind of conuitinity as our video because the visuals don't seem to be in timing with the music and i don't think the mise en scene is very imaginative, some of thier shots didn't seem to be very relevant like someone just opens a door in one of the shots, which wasn't an interesting shot. also our video had few problems aswell such as some of the green screen shots weren't clean enough but overall our video is very fluent and we can tell that it looks like it has been carefully constructed. we can that both are low budget videos and they both have different approaches to wha can be done for a hip hop video, there video used an original idea of a hip hop video where as we have used our enishative to create a more modern approach to a video such as sports cars, jewellery and money.

class feed back

genre : fits in with hip hop / rap genre, example graffiti bling, money, girls, urban jungle, rap boy hands, fashion, police car shows relationship between gangstas and police. visuals so strong you can tell the genre without song

relationship : there is a link betwen visulas and music style/ genre the costumes etc are sterotypical to the genre . narative not directly linked to lyrics. is very effective and works well for the perticular genre.

camera work : shots are held steady for most of the time, perfomer goes oput of frame at times, good variety of angles plus detailed close ups, loved the end bit effectivly shot. fits nicely with genre

editing : works really well no inappropriate gaps. transitions are timed well. order of shots worked really well in places, lyrics relate well with shots

mise en scene : very good, rangfe of locations that fit well the lyrics of the song. there is some good split screens and they have the colours to the video. kept it intresting because they change the scenes.

special effects : good use of special effects with objects that materialise the genre like the car and watch. but the only problem is the backgorund dosen't look realistic enough.

Action Plan

next we are going to get a few more shots and continue with the editing and mabe make a few more improvements from the feedback we had. we will also be focusing on our green screen backgrounds and adding more interesting backgrounds and keep on up dating our blog. i think we gave a clear idea from our rough cut what i music would look like finished, also we are going to come in extra hours edit our video. our group is pleased with our video so far.

Rough Cut Feed Back

Camera Work: good varity of shots and locations, fits well with genre, steady camera, good zooming,.....someone said we needed more of a varity of shots

Editing: editng fits in palce with music, good pace and angles, difernt shots put together , rapid shots, editing looks sharp eg the lights changing colour, good lpsyncing, runs along smoothly

Effects: Good cutaway especially the car, pushing shot of man standing at end is great and creates mystery, editing sits in pace with music, fast motion works well,....green screen needs to be done

Mise en scene/Perfomance: props are realistic eg car, studio mike, club etc and cigar, fits with lyrics, speacker shots effective, fits well with the genre, good use of bling, chain , necklace, props work well, very sterotypical, works well with song, convincing and fun, perfomance mixed with cut aways, great locations, added in limos, good perfomance, really got into it, good energy and very believable

continuity: fits with lyrics, it makes sense, smooth, obviously knows words,.......a bit out of sync with music
